Engineering Case Studies

MCC Industries work on many different projects in a variety of industries. We have added a few case studies to give you an example of the work we do. We have kept our clients names hidden, but if you require references, please contact info@mccindustries.co.uk and we will contact you with more information.

New Product Prototype for the Golfing Industry

The Brief:
To CNC machine a series of prototypes for a new golf training design. Being a new product at the prototype stage of development this contract was highly confidential. The client supplied working drawings and a tight deadline to work from.

The Solution:
Using the clients 3D CAD model and drawings, the components were programmed using our offline WinMax machining software. The complex intricacies of the design demanded our own thorough testing and development before carrying out final machining. Our testing pinpointed a few areas where improvements to the design could be made, the revisions were then discussed with the client before proceeding. The client was very happy with this additional service and pleased that we had resolved what could have been a critical design fault within their design.

Mark Cox, Managing Director of MCC Industries Ltd commented: "We were pleased to offer this added value to our clients saving them not only valuable time but unnecessary machining and material costs".

Using our Hurco VM3 machine centre ensured the complex profiles were machined and after verification gained from our Faro CMM inspection equipment.

The customer's expectations were met On time, On Spec and within budget

Ink Cartridge Refilling machines

The Brief:
The product was close tolerance machined parts manufactured from Delrin. The customer came to us after experiencing both quality and delivery problems with their present supplier.

The Solution:
After inspecting several components supplied from their current supplier. We identified that the main quality issues were caused by handling errors. Components were being machined in two, three or even in some instances four or five different operations. We looked at the overall manufacturing process and decided by using the 4th Axis option on our Hurco VM3 Machining centre. We could eliminate all handling errors as the component would not leave the machine during the manufacturing process until all critical machining processes were complete.

The customer's expectations were met On time, On Spec and within budget

Precision Turning Parts for the Aerospace Industry

The Brief:
The brief was to produce a range of component parts for the Aerospace industry from a broad spectrum of materials and design criteria's. The components being for ongoing projects that had to meet strict deadlines and quality standards.

The Solution:
All components were manufactured using our ISO 9001-2008 Quality system. Full traceability was established from the mill where the materials were manufactured right through our manufacturing processes and on to delivering to the customer.

The customer's expectations were met On time, On Spec and within budget
